Candle Care

How to care for your candles.

Candles are a great way to add warmth and ambiance to any room, but they require a little bit of care to keep them looking and smelling their best. Here are some tips for getting the most out of your candles:

  1. Trim the wick: Before lighting your candle, make sure to trim the wick to about 1/4 inch. This will ensure maximum scent throw and help the candle last longer.

  2. Burn candles for the appropriate amount of time: Candles should be burned for at least 2 hour to ensure an even burn pool. Burning a candle for too short a time can lead to "tunneling," where the wax only melts in the center of the candle and leaves a ring of wax around the edges. Never burn longer than 4 hours.

  3. Keep candles away from drafts: Drafts can cause candles to burn unevenly and can also blow the flame around, which can be dangerous. Make sure to keep candles away from open windows, fans, and air conditioning vents.

  4. Use a snuffer: Extinguish candles with a snuffer to prevent wax splatter and to help prevent the wick from drifting off-center.

  5. Store candles properly: When not in use, store candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. This will help prevent fading and discoloration.

  6. Don't burn candles all the way down: When a candle has about 1/4 inch of wax left, it's time to retire it. Burning a candle all the way down can be dangerous, as the flame can come into contact with the glass and cause it to break.

By following these simple tips, you can keep your candles looking and smelling great for longer. Enjoy your Uncommon Pour soy candles, and stay safe!
